On October 12th, 2013, KJ’s Market on Ebenezer Road held a Cornhole tournament to raise money for Camp RAE. With help from many sponsors, headlined by Coca-Cola Consolidated, KJ’s Market was able to raise $1,074 to donate to Camp RAE.
Camp RAE was founded by Pee Dee residents who recognized ad need for a summer program to provide therapy and educational interaction for non-mobile special needs children to replace the programs provided for them during the school months. Since no such programs of this type existed in the entire Pee Dee region, a group was formed in the Spring of 2009 to create Camp RAE.
Around 350 people came out in support of the event. 29 Teams entered the Cornhole tournament which was won by the team “Jerry’s Diner” out of North Carolina. Hot Dogs, Ribs, Chicken and Subs were served to the hungry contestants and crowd. KJ’s Market would like to thank everyone who was involved from the sponsors to the teams and volunteers who donated their time and money to help a great cause.
